American Dream Awards Breakfast

The Problem

Prior to 2013, the American Dream Awards Breakfast (ADAB) was a bi-yearly event with no consistent branding. As an AmeriCorps*VISTA serving at Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, my main project of the year was to brand the now annual fundraiser. My objective as an AmeriCorps volunteer was to build capacity, aka build a brand that could be used year after year even after my year term was over.

The Solution

The organization works to not only eliminate poverty housing for families, but to also build up communities in which these families reside. With that idea in mind, I created the image of the five homes — a community of families and partnerships. The third house in the center is warmer than the other two, welcoming in neighbors with an open front door. The year of the event can be easily updated without disrupting the design.

Inside the invitation, I add chimney smoke to evoke the feeling of comfort and home. The blue and green reflect the Habitat logo colors, while the orange lightens it up to a morning event.
